The Baltic States, together with Poland, are taking a strategic step in digital development by uniting around a shared goal – the creation of the Baltic Artificial Intelligence Gigafactory (Baltic AI GigaFactory). This project marks the region’s commitment to strengthening its independence and competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence by building a modern and powerful computing infrastructure that will serve as a foundation for future innovation.
The driving force behind the project is Poland, which has submitted an application to the European Commission for the establishment of this infrastructure, supported by Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. This initiative is not only technological but also geopolitical – it aims to reduce dependence on technological giants from third countries and reinforce data sovereignty across the region.
The planned gigafactory will provide not only high-performance data processing capacity, but also a secure environment for developing, testing, and deploying AI solutions. Such large-scale infrastructure will be accessible not only to research institutions and public administration, but also to the private sector – companies developing or implementing AI-based services.
For Latvia, this initiative represents an opportunity to strengthen its digital ecosystem and actively participate in regional technology projects that have so far been dominated by larger EU countries. Moreover, the creation of the AI gigafactory may serve as a launching platform for startups and innovation centers seeking an environment to test their solutions with access to powerful computing resources.
This regional cooperation also aligns with broader European Union strategies, which call for the development of shared, trustworthy and ethically grounded platforms for AI advancement. My name is Nauris, and I have been actively working in the digital field since 2014. My professional career began in traditional marketing, where I gained foundational knowledge in corporate communication and strategy development. However, by closely following market trends, it became clear that the future of business is increasingly tied to the digital environment. Therefore, I made a conscious decision to change my specialization and move into the digital segment to provide companies with modern and sustainable solutions.

The core business of SIA “94N Digital” is digital marketing services, particularly PPC advertising, which includes Google Ads, Meta Ads, Bing Ads, and Amazon Ads, primarily targeting Western markets. Alongside this specialization, the company has from the outset developed an AI division, which complements and strengthens its overall expertise. This includes software development and integration to provide clients with customized digital tools for more efficient process management, as well as cloud technology and data management solutions that enable secure, scalable, and cost-effective operations. Special attention is given to the analysis and optimization of AI systems, as well as the development of digital transformation strategies, helping clients enhance their competitiveness both locally and internationally.
What is the current direction of the industry?
Currently, the main trend shaping both the Latvian and global IT sectors is the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies. I am convinced that AI will not only remain relevant over the next 20 years but will become an integral element in every industry sector. It is already transforming marketing, software development, and data management, and this trend is only set to grow.
