Information technology market
After Latvia regained its independence, as the IT industry and computer manufacturing developed in Latvia, it became necessary to organize the information technology market, ensure equal business rules for companies operating in this field, and promote the development of the industry.
LDRA registration
For this purpose, the Latvian Computer Manufacturers Association (LDRA) was registered on September 10, 1997 as a non-governmental, public organization. As the business specifics of the association’s members changed, covering an increasingly wider spectrum of computer technology sectors, the name of the organization was changed on March 17, 2000, and is now the Latvian Computer Technology Association (LDTA).
Accomplishments
If we look back at what has been accomplished, the association’s activities were focused on supporting the entrepreneurship of each member of the association, as well as increasing the competitiveness of companies in the industry by participating in the development of several draft laws, as well as regularly meeting with representatives of the state administration and legislators and submitting their proposals. Currently, LDTA, as an association of industry experts, is consulted by our country, as well as foreign organizations.
More and more projects are being implemented in cooperation with LIAA and the European Social Fund.
Currently, the organization actively participates in the development of various draft laws and regulations, as well as cooperates with other associations of a similar profile.
