Project No. 4.2.4.1/1/24/A/001
The Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) invites Latvian information and communication technology (ICT) companies and startups to apply for participation in a trade mission to Japan. This provides the opportunity to represent Latvia at one of the most significant technology industry events in Asia — the CEATEC 2025 exhibition, which will take place from October 14 to 17 in Chiba. The full trade mission program is planned in Tokyo and Osaka from October 11 to 18.
CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) is one of Japan’s leading technology exhibitions, bringing together innovation leaders, officials, entrepreneurs, and researchers in one place. The main theme of the 2025 exhibition — “Innovation for ALL” — emphasizes the importance of technology for sustainable development and accessibility at all levels. Latvia will be represented in the Global Park pavilion — an international platform showcasing the most advanced technological solutions from various countries and regions.
Benefits of participation:
Participation in the mission can receive up to 60% co-financing of eligible costs, including travel, accommodation, and participation fees. More information about participation and co-financing opportunities is available on the website business.gov.lv under “Participation in Trade Missions Abroad.”
For Latvian entrepreneurs, participation in an international event of this scale is…

What role do you assign to competency development in a company’s long-term strategy?
Without educating and training people, there is no company development. Therefore, it is not just a strategy but an integral part of daily business. Acknowledging this, we integrate training into everyday activities—not as isolated events, but as a continuous process. We strive to ensure that every day brings something new to learn. We achieve this by both creating and mastering new knowledge. In this way, we constantly expand our knowledge base and improve ourselves.
Can you give examples where investment in employee competencies has brought tangible benefits to the company?
Acquiring new knowledge makes us more productive. When facing a challenge or a complex situation, we are more open to trying new approaches and technologies to see if they can solve older, long-standing problems. The beneficiaries of this approach are clients, the company itself, and ultimately the employees, who sometimes need to invest significant energy to resolve complicated tasks. With new knowledge, technologies, and tools, problems that once seemed unsolvable can often be addressed. This, of course, creates a positive atmosphere in the daily routine, where employees encounter various challenges. In such cases, new technologies and artificial intelligence can provide both more meaningful time and practical assistance in solving everyday routine tasks.
